It is common that the management of the apartment house decides to install usual intercom door phone system. This system is installed on stairwells’ front doors. It allows visitors to enter the stairwell without the owner of the apartment should go down to the door.

 

To use intercom door phone system, you have to install an outdoor unit on the front door. You need to install a door phone to every apartment as well.  It requires cables that connect the outdoor unit and door phones. When someone calls from the front door, the door phone will ring and apartment’s residents can open the electric lock of the front door with a small button attached to the phone.

 

Unfortunately, that kind of system has high operating and purchasing costs.

Mobile door phone system

Most of us have a mobile phone and we carry it with ourselves all the time. Thanks to the mobile phone, we can leave out the outdoor unit, cabling and phones in apartments

 

This is how the system works

A guest arrives at your front door and calls on your mobile phone. It is your choice, if you answer the call or not. If you want to open the door, you have to call on a SIM-card, which is in GSM controller (GSM controller is near the front door). If the caller is right (phone number is saved in the controller), the controller will give an impulse to open the front door.    GSM controller does not answer calls, which means that you don’t have to pay for any call. However, there are some operator charges for the SIM card which you have to pay (choose the most suitable for yourself – contact local service providers).

Such a system consists of many elements:   - Electric lock - Electric striking plate - Door magnet - Door closer - Power adaptor - Touch free infrared exit sensor   In addition, you need only GSM controller.    Every mobile phone number you want to open the door with will be saved in the controller. Adding and removing numbers is easy. You only need few minutes for programming these on the Internet or in administrator mobile phone.

If the management of the apartment house decides to acquire a usual door phone system, all the residents have to approve the decision. Otherwise, it is impossible to install the system. The system would be connected between all the apartments and if one of the apartments decides not to participate in the installation is complicated.

 

Mobile door phone system does not require every resident’s approval. If someone does not want to spend money on the system, it can stay out of it. 

 

If you wish, you can add your front door a RDIF proximity card system, which allows you to open the door with proximity card or key tab.

 

You can also use a code to open the door. However, we don’t suggest using the code as it is easy to copy and insecure in long-term use.
